It is a spiced tea-based drink made with milk. Based on India’s centuries-old ‘national drink’, chai masala, it is a delicious blend of black tea, vanilla, honey, and a range of ‘comfort spices’. Bondi Chai is Australia’s own version of this delightful drink.
The Vanilla Honey variety is a smooth, softer flavour while Club Cinnamon is closer to India’s traditional “chai masala” taste with stronger spices and a crisp after taste. Ginger n Spice is our spiciest flavour and is also our dairy-free delight that is also vegan-friendly.
We’ve heard Vanilla Honey described as a little bit like egg custard or egg nog, and our favourite description for our Club Cinnamon is ‘liquid donuts’! Ginger n Spice is a bit like a ginger nut biscuit with a bit of a burn when you swallow. But the most common feedback we get is just ... YUM!
Add two teaspoons of Bondi Chai to a glass/cup of your hot milk of choice (steamed is best) and stir. For a frappe, dissolve in a little hot water and blend with super-chilled milk and ice in a blender. Add vanilla yoghurt and/or fruit for a delicious fruit smoothie.
Yes – some people prefer the stronger, spicier flavours of ‘chai tea’ and add Bondi Chai to hot water with a dash of milk for a quick chai tea. Or simply add a teaspoon of Bondi Chai powder to a cup of brewed tea!

Vanilla Honey and Club Cinnamon are made with skim milk powder and whey powder both of which are dairy products. Our Ginger n Spice is dairy free. All three varieties are great with non-dairy 'milks' including soy, almond, coconut or rice milk.
Absolutely! Bondi Chai is a genuinely all-Australian product: made in Australia; using up to 95% Australian ingredients; to an Australian-developed recipe; by a 100% Australian-owned, privately held company.
No more than a typical ‘white with one’ cup of tea or coffee. Chai is traditionally a sweet drink, but by including Australian honey as a sweetener we have been able to significantly reduce the traditional sugar content to just 6g per serve (one teaspoon).
Yes – a small amount, about the same as green tea, which is half that of a brewed black tea. So if you’re looking for a caffeine hit – sorry, but you won’t get it from Bondi Chai (unless you put a shot of espresso in it to make a “Dirty Chai”!)
